About Us
Susan Raney Speech Therapy was founded in 2025 as a niche private practice that specializes in late talkers, gestalt language processing, and AAC. We use a neurodiversity-affirming, play-based approach and provide therapy in a welcoming space designed to make kids feel comfortable and supported.
Susan Raney, M.A., CCC-SLP
Founder, Speech-Language Pathologist
Hi, my name is Susan! I received my Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University and Master’s degree from LSU Baton Rouge. I’ve been a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 8 years and have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of clients, but I found my work with late talkers and autistic children to be the most rewarding. I am trained in Natural Language Acquisition, which makes me qualified to treat gestalt language processors. I love sharing my passion for neurodiversity-affirming therapy with families and believe caregivers play one of the most important roles in carryover of skills.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, dog, and four cats (yes, I know four cats is crazy!). I love to be creative, whether it’s gardening, hand embroidery, or needlepoint.
Our Logo: The Japanese Magnolia is a symbol of Dignity, new beginnings, and potential.
At Susan Raney Speech Therapy, these qualities reflect the heart of my practice: honoring the dignity of every neurodivergent child, fostering growth during the therapeutic process, and deeply believing in each child’s potential by always presuming competence.
